Samuel Eto’o has been in Mali since Friday, June 11, 2021. The former Cameroonian international came to attend the final of the first edition of the BSS Cup, a local football competition launched in January 2021 with the aim of promoting social cohesion. During the interview, Samuel Eto’o Fils spoke about the preparations for the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) to be held in his country in 2022. The former Chelsea FC scorer did not have the slightest doubt about Cameroon’s ability to host the competition.
“The State of Cameroon and the Cameroonians have done a good job. We had some difficulties a few months ago, but this is all behind us. Cameroon may even dream of organizing the World Cup. Because we have stadiums for such a competition. I am proud today to say that my country can organize any competition of international level ”he declared.
According to information relayed by several Malian blogs, let us recall that apart from the aforementioned major event for which he was invited to Mali, Samuel Eto’o will also go to several orphanages in the city of Bamako, to distribute donations.
