In a memo dated July 16, 2021, the Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie asks his collaborator, Sieur Etoundi Mballa Georges Alain to assert his pension rights. A week later, in particular on July 25, the President of the Republic signed a decree extending the latter’s activities within this ministerial department for a period of 2 years.

The Director of the fight against epidemics and pandemics at the Ministry of Public Health, Dr Georges Alain Etoundi Mballa, will still be active until at least July 2022. This senior Minsanté executive has benefited from an extension of two years of service in his career as a civil servant thanks to a decree from the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, signed on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

It is granted to Mr. Georges Alain Etoundi Mballa, lecturer (Matricule 526 185-M), an extension of activities of two (02) years for the period from July 22, 2020 to July 22, 2022“, writes Paul Biya The director of the fight against epidemics and pandemics still has one year in office before going into retirement.

This act of the Head of State annoys the Minister of Health, Manaouda Malachie, who had previously notified his employee of his retirement, in a letter dated July 16, 2021. This notification came one year after the official date of his retirement. However, it is not superfluous to specify that by force of circumstances, because of the Coronavirus pandemic which was directly under his management, Dr Etoundi Mballa still remained in office to manage the disease.
