In a letter dated October 18, 2021, the Cameroonian number one emphasizes that the young Nabil Mbombo Njoya takes over from his father who was an architecte.

President Paul Biya congratulated His Majesty Nfonrifoum Mbombo Njoya Mouhamed Nabil, the new king aged only 28 who succeeded his father, SM Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya, who died on September 27, 2021 in France at the age of 84 and was buried last October 9 in Foumban, Western region.

Sir, I would like to send you my warm congratulations following your induction as traditional leader of the Bamoun Community. You are taking over from your father, who was a builder and a unifier, always with a patriotic spirit. May your reign draw on your rich heritage of Bamoun culture, and bring to this Community even more prosperity and solidarity, while contributing to the strengthening of national unity and integration ”, wrote the man from 06 November 1982 to the Sultan.

As a reminder, until his appointment, Sultan Nabil was head of the legal affairs division of the services of the Governor of the Southern region and once an executive in the Ministry of Territorial Administration. King Nfon Mbombo Nabil is the 20th of the Nchare Yen dynasty.
