The CEO of Express Exchange is the new mayor of the Municipality of Bamendjou

Xavier Takam, municipal councilor on behalf of the Cameroon People Democratic Movement(CPDM), is the new mayor of the district municipality of Bamendjou in the West region of Cameroon.

The commune of Bamendjou, in the Hauts-Plateaux division, western region, remains in the hands of the Cameroon People Democratic Movement(CPDM). Xavier Takam (photo), municipal councilor on behalf of this party, is the new mayor of this municipality. The businessman was elected on June 25 during an extraordinary municipal council to replace René Kamdoum, former mayor who died of illness on May 10, 2021.

When he died at the age of 59, Réné Kamdoum was serving his second term as head of the Bamendjou communal executive, where he was re-elected in the last combined legislative and municipal elections held in February 2019.

During his mandate, Xavier Takam intends to continue the initiatives of his predecessor, in particular with regard to the construction of the notoriety of the Bamendjou commune which includes several villages, including Baboum, Badentcha, Bahiala, Bakang, Bakouokeu, Balatsit, Bambou, Bamessinget Bameya .

Until then kept quiet in the world of politics, Xavier Takam is best known as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Express Exchange, a financial services company specializing in money transfer and manual exchange.
