PCRN: the Party’s Disciplinary Committee called to rule on the Robert Kona case

Robert Kona

Contacted by our colleague of SBBC, Joseph Félix Nyeck Biyaga, one of the members of the Disciplinary Commission of the Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (CPNR), declared that this body will decide in the coming days on the possibility of initiating a procedure disciplinary action against Robert Kona, the former president of this political party.

This commission will rule on this matter at the request of the National Political Bureau of the CPNR, which met in Yaoundé at the end of last week. At the CPNR, we admit that this affair is the continuation of the internal war between the current president Cabral Libii and Robert Kona. The second initiated legal proceedings to take back the reins of the party. A pill that goes down badly with several activists. Who contacted the party’s Ethics and Surveillance Committee (ESC) to request that disciplinary proceedings be opened against Robert Kona. The ESC, after instruction, in turn referred the matter to the National Political Bureau. Eyes are now turned towards the Disciplinary Commission, which, ultimately, must decide whether there is grounds to initiate this disciplinary procedure.

Our source indicates that the Disciplinary Commission has not yet met in session to study this matter in depth. This meeting is announced this week or next week. In the meantime, the ESC must first transmit the file which overwhelms Robert Kona to the members of the Disciplinary Commission. At the same time, this crisis also continues at the Court of First Instance (CFI) of Kaélé, in the Far North region, where Robert Kona has taken legal action to challenge the legitimacy of Cabral Libii’s leadership. The next hearing is scheduled for April.
