Official obituary: Paul Biya elevates John Fru Ndi to the rank of Cameroonian Grand Cordon of Merit posthumously

John Fru Ndi, the late founder of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) was posthumously elevated this Saturday to the rank of Cameroonian Grand Cordon of Merit. This is the highest distinction in the Cameroonian Order of Merit.

Died on June 12 as a result of illness in Yaoundé, Ni John Fru Ndi began his last trip on Thursday July 27. This Saturday in Babba II, his native village near Bamenda, the former historic leader of the Cameroonian opposition will be buried. Before this final farewell, the President of the Republic honored the deceased for services rendered to the Nation.
