Gunshots sowed panic last Friday, September 16, 2022 at a place called Pont Joss Besseke, near the Akwa district, the business center of the economic capital.

A gang of suspected thugs returning from a burglary fired several shots to escape. According to our sources, the group of suspected robbers were returning from an operation on an expatriate. An attempted burglary that would have gone wrong in the Koumassi district in the Subdivision of Douala 1.

While they got stuck in traffic, these hooded thugs who were in a vehicle got out and fired shots in the air. They thus sowed panic to disperse the other users on the track before continuing their mad dash” recounts a witness.

According to the latest news, the intelligence services of the police and the gendarmerie are on the heels of the alleged criminals. An anti-gang policeman who was chasing the fugitives was shot and wounded. He was transferred to Muna’s Clinic. The video surveillance of this hospital establishment located a stone’s throw from the scene of the shooting, is also used by the police as part of the investigation opened following this shooting.
