The mayor of Douala, Roger Mbassa Ndine, announces breakages Friday, January 19 in Ngonsoa, a district of the second Sub division of the city.

In a press release signed on January 12, the municipal magistrate informed the residents of this neighborhood, specifically the residents of streets 2.474 and 2.814, that their buildings will be demolished today. These are, he specifies, constructions which were marked as part of the paving work on certain roads in the city. These breakages thus aim to free up the rights-of-way of said works.

To this end, the mayor of the city invites the owners of these constructions to take the necessary measures to free up the project rights-of-way, in order to facilitate the execution of said work by the successful bidder for the site. The work on paving the roads in Ngonsoa aims in particular to improve access to this district of Douala.

For several years now, the Urban Community has embarked on a campaign to maintain and develop urban roads. The objective, according to the Douala Urban Council, is part of improving the living conditions of populations and restoring the fluidity of road traffic for better mobility of goods and people.
