Famous Nollywood actor Pope Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, is dead. The 39-year-old actor reportedly drowned while attempting to cross the River Niger during the making of a movie.
Nigerian actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, popularly called Junior Pope, has passed away. The actor died in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 9, while filming in Asaba, Delta State capital, in Nigeria.
According to a Vanguard Nigeria source, Junior Pope died during a boat trip. The boat capsised and he, alongside two other yet-to-be-identified actors, drowned. Junior Pope’s body was recovered and rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The Delta State Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emma Onyemeziem, confirmed to Vanguard that the corpse had been deposited in the mortuary.
Junior Pope leaves behind his wife and three children. He has acted in Nollywood movies like, “Secret Adventures”, “Eye of the Eagle”, “Bitter Generation”, “Wrong Initiation,” and “Honey Money” among others.
