World Rural Woman Day: Tonga in the spotlight

The rural women of the Tonga district celebrated on Wednesday October 18, 2023 the 28th world day of rural women.

A celebration placed under the theme: “Rural women and green economy: better produce and transform to seize the opportunities of the African continental free trade area (ZLECAF).

On this occasion, the mayor of the commune of Tonga Dieudonné Bankoué paid tribute to rural women for her role in the development of our country Cameroon.
The representative of rural women, president of the network of associations of women in the Tonga district, thanked her sisters in local language, in English and French for their involvement in the activities of the Women’s Network and in particular for their contribution to success of this celebration.
The SDO of the NDé, Auguste Essomba who presided over this day, in his circumstance speech paying tribute to women for their daily deployment to bring their family to life, the divisiont and the whole Cameroon. This ceremony will also have been an opportunity seized by the Bangangté woman promotion center to hand over scrolls to some of the young women graduates in its trades training center. Then followed the delivery of agricultural equipment to women’s organizations, visiting the exhibition stands for agro-pastoral and craft products. Occasionally, the “Kekia ‘” Coki cake in red oil, well crisp of the Bazou women and the famous Tonga rice were on the menu.
