Funeral of John Fru Ndi in Bamenda: Ambazonians impose a curfew in the Mezam

The Ambazonians intend to disrupt the funeral of Ni John Fru Ndi, leader of the SDF who died last June in Yaoundé.

From July 27 to 29 in Baba, a village in Bamenda, the funeral of the late John Fru Ndi will take place. Three days before the start of his funeral, the separatists are raising their voices. The leader of the Ambazonia Governing Council and its armed wing, the Ambazonia Defense Force invited the people of Bamenda, the North West regional capital to stay at home on July 28.

“I urge everyone to stay off the streets of Bamenda on July 28. All foreign emissaries and authorities are informed by this message. We have also imposed a curfew throughout Mezam. All bars must close by 10 p.m.,” said Dr Ayaba Cho Lucas. “Cameroonian criminal butchers are reminded that Ambazonia is Ambazonian,” he threatened.

If he clearly did not make a link with the funeral of the Chairman, this warning coincides with these funerals scheduled from July 27 to 29 in Baba (Bamenda). Promising to disrupt his funeral, the separatists have already set fire to a house near the residence of John Fru Ndi. An action perceived as a warning sent to the Cameroonian authorities.
