Maurice Kamto

The president of the CRM, Maurice Kamto sent a special message to the populations of the North-West and South-West as part of the registration operations on the electoral lists.

In his message published on Thursday, April 18, Maurice Kamto called on the populations of the North-West and South-West of Cameroon to join the general mobilization underway within the framework of registration on the electoral lists. For the leader of the CRM, it is only through the ballot box that the people will be able to decide their future.

Aware of the security situation in the English-speaking regions, Maurice Kamto reiterates the position of his party which opposes separatism. “This position rejects separatism, which it considers to be an extreme, although understandable, reaction to autism, brutality and the use of force by those in power in the face of your demands which were completely legitimate in the first place” , wrote the academic.

SPECIAL MESSAGE TO THE POPULATIONS OF THE NORTH-WEST AND SOUTH-WEST REGIONS REGARDING REGISTRATIONS ON THE ELECAM VOTER LISTS FOR THE ELECTIONS SCHEDULED FOR 2025.

Dear brothers and sisters of the North-West and South-West, the human, material and psychological consequences of the civil war underway in the two regions of our country, Cameroon, for almost eight years are disastrous.

The CRM has a constant and publicly known political position on this national drama. This position rejects separatism, which it considers to be an extreme, although understandable, reaction to autism, brutality and the use of force by those in power in the face of your demands which were completely legitimate in the first place. Our unchanged position since the start of the crisis is that it is not through arms or in an armed confrontation between the National Army and armed separatist groups that the legitimate political problems of Anglophones can be resolved effectively and sustainably, because, It must be remembered that these problems are the consequence of the poor political management of Reunification.

For the CRM, whose federalist convictions have been clearly affirmed throughout the evolution of the conflict, it is through Justice, an Inclusive Dialogue open to all, including armed groups, and dealing with the central question of the form of the State that we can rebuild peace together in our country and lay solid foundations for our common history.

In addition to the choice by voters to reject or maintain the dictatorial, kleptocratic and irresponsible management of the country by the CPDM regime, one of the major issues of the next elections in our country will be the quality of the political offer of the parties and candidates for an in-depth resolution of the thorny question of the return of peace to the English-speaking regions.

On this particular point, voters will have to choose between the Peace through Justice project at the end of a true Inclusive Dialogue dealing with all important political subjects and in particular the form of the State, carried by the CRM, and that of the military solution, the maintenance of centralization, the refusal of justice and the stifling arrogance that the CPDM power imposes on our country.

In order to give you the citizen power to impose your choice during these crucial elections for peace, stability and the future of our country, you must be registered on the ELECAM electoral lists, go and vote when the time comes. , monitor and defend your votes. This is why I invite you, dear brothers and sisters of the battered and bereaved English-speaking regions, the internally and externally displaced people of these regions, the members of the diaspora to register in mass on the electoral lists, so that together, the moment come, by our massive vote, we will go to democratically take control of Parliament and Councils, and put an end to 43 years of reign of Mr. Paul BIYA with a sanction vote and without appeal during the presidential election.
