Air traffic controllers strike:Air traffic controllers suspend strike in West and Central Africa

The staff of the air traffic control company (ASECNA) from 17 countries had stopped working demanding dialogue with hierachy and salary increment but got neither.

“The strike notice, reactivated on September 20, 2022, is suspended for a period of ten (10) days 8 from this day Saturday, September 24, 2022. Air traffic services will be provided in all gore airspaces and airports by ASECNA 8 as of today Saturday, September 24, 2022 8 12:00 UT“, can we read in the press release from the Union of Air Traffic Controllers Unions of Asecna.

“This new suspension is granted by the air traffic controllers of ASECNA to once again give a chance for dialogue with a view to satisfying their claim platform in eight (8) points”, continued the union of air traffic controllers of ASECNA. ‘Asecna.

Many flights were canceled from Friday to Saturday at several airports in African member countries of Asecna. In Cameroon, flights were canceled this Saturday morning at Douala International Airport despite the measures taken by the Ministry of Transport.
