Wesley Sneijder tells Onana not to join Arsenal

by Theophile

Former Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder has urged Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana not to join Arsenal as the Premier League club have ‘slipped’ in recent years.

After listening to a reduction in his sentence for doping and currently in negotiations with Arsenal for a possible transfer this summer, Wesley Sneijder advises against the North London club to the Cameroonian goalkeeper, believing that he can play instead in one of the two biggest clubs in Spain. Rather, Sneijder wants the Cameroon international to join Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The former Ajax Amsterdam player, Samuel Eto’o’s former teammate at Inter Milan and legend in his country, Wesley Sneijder spoke about the situation of his training club and raised the case of André Onana in the advising against joining Arsenal: “He is a high class goalkeeper. I hope he doesn’t sign at Arsenal. They are a magnificent club but they have been on a downward slope in recent years. He would be much better at Real or Barça, ”he said on the columns of Voetbalprimeur.
