This was at the end of an operation carried out by elements of the Nlongkak Gendarmerie Brigade in the Etoa-Meki neighborhood last Friday following denunciations and intelligence.

The national gendarmerie strikes a blow. Elements of the Gendarmerie Brigade from Nlongkak, a district of Yaoundé, dismantled a “clandestine” clinic specializing in the practice of voluntary terminations of pregnancy (abortion).

It was June on 18, 2021 at around noon during a descent to the place called Etoa-Meki where this clinic of a different kind was located. An operation which “made it possible to catch the author of this activity in flagrante delicto on a 19-year-old girl who was two months pregnant. The cost of abortions performed here varied between 10,000 and 50,000 CFA francs depending on the length of the pregnancy, ” indicates the national gendarmerie.

According to the same source, “The 45-year-old suspect and his two assistants who worked without any qualifications in an unsanitary room were arrested, the equipment and drugs of dubious origin seized. By order of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Yaoundé Administrative Center, the said clinic was closed ”, learned camerounactuonline.com.

For now, an investigation has been opened at the Nlongkak Gendarmerie Brigade and is continuing to uncover companies of this scale.
