According to corroborating and very familiar sources at the headquarters of the African Football Confederation, Patrick Mboma could be appointed Deputy Secretary General in charge of competitions and football at CAF.

camerounactuonline.com had exclusively announced on June 06, 2021, that the former glory of Ghanaian football, Anthony Baffoe, had submitted his letter of resignation from the post of SGA of CAF. Despite the denials, the information came to light soon after.

This Saturday, July 3, 2021, according to our colleague Richard Naha, former Cameroonian footballer and two-time African champion, Patrick Mboma would be approached to be appointed deputy secretary general of the African Football Confederation to replace Anthony Baffoe. “Patrick Mboma is the future Deputy Secretary General of the African Football Confederation” declared without ambiguity Richard Naha, our colleague, reputed to have reliable sources with CAF.

The body headed by South African Patrice Motsepe for about three months has not yet officially announced the name of the new recruit who will replace Anthony Baffoe. The latter was the very first former high-level footballer to have held such an important position within CAF. The Malagasy Ahmad Ahmad, predecessor of Patrice Motsepe, had the day after taking power at the head of CAF in 2017, appointed Antony Baffoe as SGA in charge of football and development.
