A workshop on identifying and structuring fish chain actors in Maroua

A workshop on identifying and structuring fish chain actors concluded yesterday in Maroua.

This initiative of the Honorable Célestin Tabouli and Julien Bara aims, not only to fight unemployment, but also and above all, to boost the local economy. The workshop brought together non-professional producers on the one hand, students of the National Higher Polytechnic School of Maroua on the other.

It was in the presence of the representative of the regional delegate of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Biem Ongla Julien Hervé, head of the regional service for fisheries, aquatics and aquatic industries.

The aim of this meeting is not only to encourage production initiatives in this field but above all to reassure anyone who wants to embark on it. This to the extent that the state is willing to go along with them. In its ongoing 2023 budget, the government has allocated FCFA 136 billion to support agropastoral development projects.
