FIFA World Ranking: Cameroon leap forward six places

In the FIFA rankings updated this Thursday, August 12, 2021, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon jumped six places ahead.

The Indomitable Lions have made a big leap forward, on the stock exchange of nations of the body that manages football around the world. Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting and his teammates go from 60th to 54th in the world.

Cameroon’s pennant team nevertheless remains in 8th position in Africa. The Top 10 of the continent is still dominated by Senegal, 21st best nation in the world. The Teranga Lions are followed by Tunisia and Algeria respectively 2nd and 3rd in Africa. Malawi and Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon’s top two opponents in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers, respectively occupy 118th and 57th places in this world ranking. Egypt kept the same position, i.e. 46th.

With Euro 2020, Copa America 2020, Concacaf Gold Cup 2021, World Cup qualifiers 2022 and continental tournaments, as well as friendly matches on the program, no less than 348 international matches have taken place since the latest edition of the FIFA World Ranking. Regarding the Top 10 of this world ranking, Belgium still remains at the top of the list despite its elimination in the quarter-finals of EURO 2020, Italy meanwhile rose to the Top 5 behind England. France and Brazil have meanwhile exchanged places, because France loses a place to find itself in 3rd and Brazil gains one to find itself in 2nd.
