Cameroon: The Urban Municipality of Yaoundé will inject 300 million FCFA for road signs

The six-month works will be financed by the budget of the Urban Community of Yaoundé, financial year 2022 and following, line 610 107: road maintenance account.

Luc Messi Atangana, mayor of the city of Yaoundé, has just launched a national call for tenders for the execution of road signage works in the city of Yaoundé. The maximum execution time provided by the contracting authority for carrying out the work is six months for each of the three lots.

Concretely, the first concerns the central and pericentral area, the second lot includes the northern penetrating route and the presidential route and the third lot concerns Place Ahidjo and the shopping center. The estimated cost of operations is 100 million FCFA for each batch. “The works covered by the call for tenders will be financed by the budget of the Urban Community of Yaoundé, financial year 2022 and following, line 610 107: road maintenance account” specifies the press release.

The work includes in particular: cleaning, dusting and washing of the strip of roadway to receive the marking. Pre-marking, supply and application of road paints of the white thermoplastic type, cold coated or two-component, glass beads for retro reflection.

The supply and installation of vertical signage materials and equipment, namely masts, supports and normal retro-reflective panels, the removal and deposit on the municipal road of the replaced vertical signage materials or equipment.
