The information was made public by the Ministry of Public Works (Mintp).

According to the Ministry of Public Works (Mintp), 105 billion FCFA, this is the amount disbursed by the Road Fund in 2020. In detail, said disbursement was allocated for his care amounting to 37.5 billion, decentralized local authorities to 58 billion, the Ministry of Transport, 2 billion, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

Compared to previous years, the Road Fund received 1,155 countdowns, an increase of 247 compared to 2019. The rate of rejection of countdowns during their processing increased from 16% to 10%. “This decrease in the rejection rate is the result of a better appropriation of the Road Fund procedures by the actors of the road maintenance system as a whole”, explains the Mintp.

The resource allocation key from the Road Fund during the same year shows that the maintenance of national and regional roads absorbed 57% of the budget dedicated to road maintenance, while the budgetary allocation reserved for that of municipal roads has increased from 13.5% to 32%. This progression, already envisaged in the previous year, is justified by the fact that the municipal road network represents 80.8% of the entire national road network.
