Cameroon-Obituary: Sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya decorated posthumously

Sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya was posthumously elevated this Saturday to the dignity of the Grand Cordon of the Cameroonian Order of Merit.

The official funeral of Sultan Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya was held this Saturday in Foumban, capital of the Noun department in the Western Region of Cameroon. The Head of State was represented by the Prime Minister who posthumously elevated the King of Bamoun to the dignity of the Grand Cordon of the Cameroonian Order of Merit.

The king of Bamouns, Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya, died on September 27 in France, was taken to his last home on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

Several politico-administrative personalities, diplomats and many dignitaries attended the king’s funeral. At the pulpit, people unanimously praised the human qualities, peace and unification of the late sultan. For Jean Nkuete, the disappearance of Ibrahim Mbombo Njoya is a huge loss for the CPDM, which has been in power in Cameroon for several decades.
