Gustave Ebongué

He was appointed head of the National Park of Civil Engineering Equipment at the end of a board meeting held on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Yaoundé. He replaces Désiré Abogo Ntang in this post.

During a Board meeting held on September 27, 2021, the civil engineer Gustave Ebongué, until then Deputy Director General of the National Park of Civil Engineering Equipment (Matgénie), was propelled to the post of general manager of this public construction company. He replaces Désiré Abogo Ntang, with whom he became head of this state-owned company in June 2017. The new CEO will now be assisted by Prospère Ateba Enguené, also a civil engineer.

These men inherit the reins of a company that has been stuck for several years in a socio-professional crisis, accentuated by permanent cash flow tensions. Last week, staff beat the tarmac yet again to demand payment of 13 months of back pay.

In the meantime, employees barricaded access to the headquarters to anyone, including outgoing general manager Désiré Abogo Ntang, who was rebuffed upon his arrival by the furious strikers.

Even the Divisional Officer of Mfoundi, Emmanuel Djikdent, dispatched as a firefighter to the scene of the demonstrations, failed to convince them to give up their temper.

In early September, the National Park of Civil Engineering Equipment sent its supervisory ministry, the Moroccan Public Works Department, a statement of claims for its debts amounting to 906.554 million F, in respect of its services, the period from 2017 to 2021.
