The results of this operation show several separatists from the Anglophone crisis neutralized and an elderly woman released. According to several media sources, the gunmen suspected of being separatist fighters kidnapped the elderly woman, accusing her of being a witch.

When questioned, a resident of Barombi-Mbo village said the elderly woman was abducted after being accused of killing her son with a mystical snake bite. The deceased was allegedly bitten by a snake on a farm. He would have killed the snake but would have died from the venom he deposited in his body a few hours later.

Warned of the crimes committed by the armed gangs in this village, the army immediately launched an operation to search for members of the non-state armed group that we have also assembled for a long time terrorizing the population of Barombi-Mbo.
