The President of the Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, Bishop Andrew Nkea asked on Sunday for the release of Senator Regina Mundi, kidnapped last April in Bamenda.

The situation of Senator Régina Mundi is worrying and worrying. On Sunday May 15, 2022, the President of the Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, Bishop Andrew Nkea pleaded for his release. It should be remembered that she was kidnapped on April 30 by the Ambazonian ADF faction. In a protest video earlier this month, the said faction threatens to execute her on May 20, the day of celebration of Unity Day, if the President of the Republic does not release 75 prisoners detained in connection with the anglophone crisis.

On Sunday, the president of the Episcopal Conference of Cameroon launched an appeal for peace. Bishop Andrew Nkea called for the continuation of dialogue in order to silence the guns and restore peace in the English-speaking regions plagued by separatism.

“We have been through this crisis for five years and we are tired of it. Everyone is waiting for peace. It is also a call for all who listen to the Archbishop to open their hearts to be reconciled. That is the main message I gave. We continue to preach and this time I hope many people will listen. We started talking about dialogue, inclusive dialogue, we also continue to talk so that people lay down their arms. Weapons cannot solve this problem. We talk about a ceasefire, that people lay down their arms… but we must insist on this inclusive dialogue. “, did he declare.
