Anglophone Crisis: Government statement relating to the attacks of September 6, 2022 in Muyuka, South-West Region

“The Government of the Republic condemns in the strongest terms, this cowardly and despicable attack perpetrated against innocent civilians, by terrorists who have lost all humanity, with the aim of spreading terror among the populations”

A bus from the Golden Express transport company carrying 14 people from Douala was the target of fire from armed men in the district of Muyuka, Fako division of South-West region on September 6th 2022.

According to the Cameroonian government, six people were killed in this cowardly and barbaric attack perpetrated by English-speaking separatists. “A band of heavily armed terrorists opened fire on a transport bus from the company “Golden Express” coming from Douala and having on board 14 passengers, including seven women and seven men”, reported René Emmanuel Sadi, Minister of Communications.

According to the government spokesperson, the attack occurred in the district of Muyuka in the department of Fako in the English-speaking Southwest. Precisely on the section connecting the regional capital Buea to Kumba.

“The government of the Republic of Cameroon condemns in the strongest terms this cowardly and despicable attack perpetrated against innocent civilians by terrorists who have lost all humanity with the aim of spreading terror among the populations,” added the Minister of Communications.
