According to journalist Mimi Mefo, the man in uniform was “shot in broad daylight at a Way store in Nkwen Park” by gunmen on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The same source reports that the owner of the store lost a large amount of money after the police officer was murdered.
“I saw how he fights with the man, but I never knew it was a theft case. The next thing I heard was gunshots. That’s when we ran for cover. He was shot by another gunman. The armed men then left the scene on about three motorcycles. The officer was rushed to the Annex Hospital of Mbingo where we learned and late that he had died while the doctors were trying to save his life, ”a witness of the scene told Mimi Mefo.
